Absolutely not a racist...

Great stories from the driver’s seat, online playgrounds, and the new vigilance that’s the price of liberty, included in this week’s array of helpful hints…

  1. One good way to get invited back is to leave while you’re still welcome.
  2. One surefire way to spot a racist is that they begin a sentence with, “I’m not a racist, but…”
  3. When all the errors favor one side of the relationship, they aren't errors.
  4. Regardless of which news site reflects our views best, the BS meter is a muscle that keeps us from being scammed by politicians, used car salesmen, and Nigerian princes. Use it or lose it.
  5. So many online comments boil down to, “He started it,” or, “She did it, too.” These are explanations we wouldn’t accept from a six-year-old, but we seem to think they’re okay for us.
  6. Why do we always feel the need share our opinions, even if it’s pretty clear we’re only going to make matters worse? Please don’t say it, please don’t say it, please don’t say it…damn.
  7. When a friend is relating her tale of woe, it’s okay to let her know that she isn’t alone, but that’s not the same as pointing out that your problems are worse. Suffering is not a competitive sport.
  8. Never pass up the opportunity to ask your cab driver about his/her life or job or the kind of day it has been. It’s like paying for a good story and getting the ride for free.

You know how else you can get a good story without having to pay for it? Hmmm, could it be by subscribing to dadwrites? Why, yes, yes it could. Just click here and the ride is free.

I was going to share my opinion of this week's blog but decided instead not to say it

    Who writes this stuff?

Dadwrites oozes from the warped mind of Michael Rosenbaum, an award-winning author who spends most of his time these days as a start-up business mentor, book coach, photographer and, mostly, a grandfather. All views are his alone, largely due to the fact that he can’t find anyone who agrees with him.
